FAQ

You will find the answers to your questions and information on various features of our platform in the FAQ section of ParaEmpleo. If you can't find what you are looking for, please feel free to address the ParaEmpleo support team

Having logged on, you cannot locate your Job using the ParaEmpleo Finder. The reason is that the system prevents a Job from Matching itself. So a logged-on user's own Jobs are not displayed. But if you log off, you can search for and retrieve your Job via the ParaEmpleo Finder.

If a contact has been terminated or withdrawn for longer than 10 days, it will automatically be archived, and cease to be visible. If you suddenly can't see a contact anymore, your counterpart may have placed the contacts on hold, or archived them. In either case, you will receive a message if your counterpart terminates a contact in any way.

If you want to contact a Job, go to the "My Jobs" section. If you click on the Top Matches icon on the right hand side of each Job, you will get an overview over all potential Matches. Click on one of the Matches in order to see the "Public View" of that Job. If the displayed details interest you, click "Initiate Contact". Upon initiating contact, the Job is moved to "My Contacts" section on your home page and a contact request is being prepared. If you wish, you can write a message to the other Job now. Write a brief message and request disclosure of the profile in stages. Conversely, you may receive a message because someone wants to contact you. You also receive a notification email whenever a new contact, request for disclosure or message is received.

In ParaEmpleo, the occupation, profession field denotes an occupation or a job. So if you enter details such as "Management of a Department", the system is no longer able to Match this term with another Job. No Match is possible either, for example, if you enter an occupation as "Consultant, Teacher and Electrical-Fitter", even if you are able to do all three jobs. The reason is that an Electrical-Fitter's occupation mostly has very litle to do with that of a Teacher. Hence the Semantic Matching System is unable to classify this combination of words. If you have more than one occupation, you must compile on Job for each occupation - which will substantially increase your match factor for all sectors.

If you are a member of ParaEmpleo and are logged into your account, you can perform a normal search or you can use one of your Jobs to search for matching opportunities outside of the platform. You can thereby access milions of published, current jobs around the world, in real time and in all available languages. The quality of these external hits, which are marked with "E", can vary, and is not influenced by ParaEmpleo. This also means that not all criteria can be matched in the same quality as occurs between the Jobs on the platform. However, the external search allows you to access milions of current vacancies based on the criteria selected by you in your Jobs.

If a contact results in a Job, assignment or contract, you can click on the "Matched" menu point to indicate that a successful conclusion has been reached. This contact will then be displayed as "Matched" with your other archived Jobs and with your regular Job updates. This makes it easier to find your most successful Jobs later, e.g. for detailed reporting within your company.

A Job offers comprehensive opportunity to describe your search criteria or offer in detail. Before you start, consider which criteria you really require, and which you have more flexibility on. If you are looking for a job as a Babysitter, you will likely need to complete fewer fields than as a Dermatology Specialist. As a special feature of ParaEmpleo, you have the possibility to clone the Job of another user. In order to use someone else's Job as template, click on the corresponding button in the Job preview.

1. Enter your Job title

This is the title your Job is published under. Try to keep it short, simple and clear - for example, "Lanscape Gardener". You will have plenty of opportunity to describe your activity or required occupaction, profession of function in more detail later on. This title is only considered for information purposes and does not factor into the matching process.

2. Social Tags

As a company, you can mark your Job offers with social tags. By activating these social tags, you can indicate that your Job is suitable for people with special needs or disabilities, or for experienced people aged 50+.

3. Set authorizations

When setting up a Job, you decide whether to be the sole editor or to share the Job with other users on your subscription. Whichever you choose, you can modify these authorizations at any time. This means that you can also share a Job with someone for a limited time - while you are on holiday, for example.

4.Select a language for ParaEmpleo

As a general rule, the language you enter here will be the primary language you will use to communicate with ParaEmpleo. Whoever, you can write in English within your Jobs, and still display content in Spanish, as an example. This makes sense if you are searching internationally, or across language divides.

5. Enter an occupation/profession

Do not enter job titles that are too specialized, e.g. "Master Gardener" or "Language School Advisor"; they may only be known to you, or only used in your company. Try to follow the prompted relevant fields in ParaEmpleo adn add your own particulars - these fields allow you to fine-tune the information you give on your knowledge and occupation, profession without compromissing your search. Complete all of the fields in detail to improve your chances of a perfect match.

> For example, "Doctor" is too vague - a doctorate is after all awarded in everything from Veterinary Medicine, to Cellular Microbiology. Make it clear whether you are a Doctor of Medicine or a Veterinarian.

> State your discipline and/or specialization - the system will help you complete these fields as you go. You can select your level of specialization, and add some information in greater depth.

> Try making a Job stating only the function, the try out the various options - It pays to be thorough and accurate.

6. Description

Describe what challenge you are looking for or offering. What characteristics are important to you in a Job you are looking for, or a vacancy you are seeking to fill? Examples: Soft skills, motivation, significant personality traits, etc.

7. Availability

Here you can enter the date you are available from, or when you are free to take up a position, e.g. "Immediately" or "From 1 February 2019". Date ranges can also be entered, e.g. "From/To" for fixed-term appointments.

8. Type of contract

Here you can enter the basis on which you are offering/looking for a position or assistance, e.g. full-time, part-time, freelance, voluntary, mini/micro or odd job etc. The options are broad, and a drop-down field helps you to make your selection. If possible, enter several contract types - this greatly increases the probability of good matches.

9. Match Factor

Set a low Match factor to start with. Keep in mind: the higher you set your Match Factor, the fewer people will see your Job. Work with your experimental results, the more Matches you receive, the more discriminating your Match Factor can be - this means you can set it higher. It is quite simple: the lower the Match Factor, the more Matches you get; the higher the Match factor, the fewer, though more exact the Matches.

10. How much

If possible, do not quote fixed salary amounts here. Instead, work with bandwidths: "From/To". This increases your chances of a Match and you leave yourself room for negotiation.

11. Where, including radius

ParaEmpleo uses radius to determine the area, measured from your location, you are willing to undertake activities. It is the same as the distance you commute to/from work. You can quote several places at the same time - the wider the radius, the greater your prospects of success. If you are offering a Job at a specific location, you should enter "0 km".

12. Skills/Competences

If you are a product manager in a banking, you might enter "Mortgages" here. If you are an advertising agency, you would register the specialist knowledge you are looking for here, such a "CI/CD", "Web Design", etc. Describe which specialist knowledge you are looking for or can offer for this Job. List everyting you can do well. Be brief, accurate and insightful - but at the same time, try to be precise and avoid unspecific descriptions such as simply "Apple". This helps to round off the overall picture your counterpart will have of you and enables precise Matching.

13. Soft skills

In contrast to "Skills/Competences", in this area you should enter the most important soft skills that are relevant to the occupation, profession you are looking for or offering in this Job. For example: sense of responsability, autonomy, self-confidence, motivation, conflict resolution and communication skills, assertiveness, empathy, ability to compromise, ability to take criticism, ambitious, hard-working, etc.

14. Education/Qualifications

Enter all the education and further training you are seeking or offering here, including: education, qualifications and their levels, diplomas, certificates, courses completed, etc.

15. Experience

List the areas in which you have gained experience, or the experience you require for this Job. In the first field, enter some brief but informative terms describing the experience sought or offered. In the drop-down menu of the second field, you can select the period of time. Please note: the duration of each position should be recorded individualy; for example, if you have worked as a Travel Agent and Branch Manager for a total of 10 years, list the time periods separately: "7 years as a Travel Agent" and "3 years as a Branch Manager".

Not only can you indicate in which industry you have gained an experience but you can also say whether you held project and/or budget and/or personnel responsability during these periods of employment.

16. Responsabilities/Tasks/Duties

Describe the responsabilities, tasks and duties required or offered here. For example, would you like to manage people? Or does the activity offered comprise special duties, such as supervising apprentices?

17. Industries

Select the industries and sectors that you are willing to work in, or the industry or service sector in which your company is engaged. Possible examples are: Financial Services, Medicine, Sales, etc. If you have selected no specific sector, your Job search will always cover all industries. Whenever possible, register multiple industries to enhance your chances of perfect Matching.

18. Languages

List the language(s) you know, how well and in what form, or which language(s) you require for your Job. A possible example is: Spanish (mother tongue), English (fluent written and spoken).

19. Attach documents

In this area you can add the documents of your choice, taken from your own files to your Job. It is most likely not necessary always attach all of your available documents to every single Job. Decide what is reasonable and may take you further with this particular Job.

Yes, you can. Go to "My Archivs", > "Archived Jobs" and select the relevant Job. Then click "Restore Job" this creates and activates a copy of your archived Job. At this point, you can either leave it unalterated, or edit it. Your original Job will remain in the archive, so feel free to amend the name of the new Job.

If you only enter a title for a Job, you will not receive any Matches. The main information, which flows into the Match Factor is the occupation, profession. But other items such as education, qualifications, place of work, or experience influence the Match Factor. It is therefore important to complete these fields.

> If you know several languages, for example, do state this.

> Be thorough in your description of your skills and specialities.

> Do not quote your desired salary as a fixed sum, but rather, as a bandwith.

> Another way of increasing your chances is to extend your set radius around from desired location.

> Compile a second, similar Job, but with altered details. For example make one in every language you speak, if you are looking internationally.

You will instantly see from the Match results, which Job is giving you greater chances or increasing your range.

So far, the conventional World Wide Web has relied on human interpretation. Web 3.0 now poses a challenge: it structures hat is not only machine-readable, but also machine-processable. To achieve this, the existing data must be interwoven - it must be possible to prepare data in its entirety and in the appropriate context. That's why web 3.0 is also known as the semantic Web. ParaEmpleo is the first platform ever implemented to apply Web 3.0 which has until now, not been available. Automatically sorting specific functions correctly, irrespective of language and location makes the matching of supply and demand noticeably more efficient and accurate. It also saves time and energy.

"Matching", means bringing "compatible" or "related characteristics" together - the higher the degree of similarity between a search and offer, the more ideal the match. High-quality matchmaking is a key feature of ParaEmpleo to bring together what fits. ParaEmpleo matches skills/competences, capabilities and competencies in terms of both occupation, profession and of specializations and functions. It checks these at several levels and brings them together to produce the best Match - all in real time.

Under "My Documents", you can upload these type of items under the "Diplomas and Certificates" section.

The number of Jobs displayed for one subscription is the number of Jobs you can publish simultaneously. So, in theory, you can compile an unlimited number of Jobs, provided simply that the maximum permitted number is published at the same time.

You can use ParaEmpleo as a company, organization, headhunter, association, NGO, self-employed or as a private individual. Subscriptions differ from one another in terms of duration, number of profiles and number of searches and/or offers. The use of ParaEmpleo is free of charges for the entire Paraguayan population.

An ontology is a representation of knowledge as a set of concepts within a domain. In relation to computer science, data processing and the Internet, the challenge lies in digitalizing knowledge and making it exchangeable between application programmes and services. An ontology creates a network of logical relations from a series of data and represents a multi-dimensional link between the data to be processed. This means, for example, that a “woodworker” is also recognizable as a “carpenter” or “cabinet maker”. ParaEmpleo is a platform able to arrange and link the intersections of various levels. For any given occupation, profession, it intelligently connects and matches not only the activity, but the specialization and function
